Dental Assisting has a two chair lab for use by
students. The clinic has also been used to provide emergency dental
care to Springfield School District children.
Faculty are using patient simulation to teach students how to recognize
and react to various medical emergencies that may arise in a typical
dental practice.

A "portable" control station is used to separate the students
from the operators to provide a higher level of "realism."
The Laerdal Nursing Anne was selected for use since she is easy to
transport and still provide the essential components of emergency
situations. Two scenarios were created, one for reaction to
medication and the other cardiac .
